Sibling Rivalry

Sibling rivalry is the jealousy, competition and fighting between brothers and sisters. This sometimes start from early childhood and can grow to hatred between siblings in their adulthood and this can sometimes be due to observed preferential treatment from parents when growing up…So as a parent, what role are you playing in sibling rivalry between your children? Are you increasing it or decreasing it with your actions? Check yourself…

Each child is different, some are blessed academically, some are blessed with high emotional intelligence, some are very creative, some are highly talented and so on…so don’t treat a child whose interest is similar to yours better than the other who has a complete different interest…. Destiny differs, your children are not born to achieve your destiny (the dream you had for yourself and was unable to achieve) they are all unique and may have different roles and destiny they were created to achieve individually, so be careful not a break and destroy their destiny with your actions and pressure.

Don’t treat a child who struggle on one aspect different from the other who is better on that aspect, don’t treat a child who is excelling on one aspect better than the other who isn’t. It’s not fair because not every child can overcome the consequences of your actions, so be very careful with this parenting ministry

Parenting is not easy because we are all humans, not perfect, we all make mistake and we learn everyday, pray to God to equip you with the grace and strength to nurture, treat and lead your children right according to God’s plan and purpose for their lives. If you have a conviction within you that you have hurt a child, mislead them or created sibling rivalry between them, then it’s not to late to apologise and rebuild your relationship with that child. We will not all live forever, so take a step to make some corrections while you are still alive

Don’t allow the devil use you to create a bitter, angry and broken generation that will have to look you in the grave and say “I forgive you because of God”
